Why a Formal Proposal?
A formal proposal allows you to clarify your great ideas in a manner that others without your expertise can understand what you intend to do, how you intend to do it, and why the results will be important. The most important issue is that the project be widely applicable to philately in general.

The proposal also sets forth the tasks that you will perform to attain your goal and an estimate of the funds required from IAP and their use. It provides a complete roadmap for your study.
